It was a decent week in my training for the marathon. I did miss a day running due to having to go to dinner with some supplier. But overall I put in 32 miles with 16 of them on Saturday. I thought about entering another 5K, but I don’t want to keep shelling out $25 every week for one of these races. I do plan on “running” a race that is coming up called Run The Republic. It’s actually climbing 54 flights of stairs in the tallest building in the Rocky Mountain region. Yikes! The best part of the whole thing is that they take you back down in an elevator. I get winded climbing the 3 flights of stairs at my apartment, but I think once you start out in something that is competitive, the adrenaline kicks in, and takes you further that you would normally go. So I figure with that, I could do 5 or 6 flights!
I was diagnosed with MS about 4 years ago and I am one of the lucky ones. I don't have too many problems associated with it, and the disease has actually slowed down. I took up running 3 years ago just to see if I could do it. So far I've run 3 marathons in a year and a half.
